Hi, and welcome to Doggytopia.
I would like to just take a minute to introduce myself and the Doggytopia team. My name is Brenda and I am the owner of this store. I am also a certified dog trainer and have spent the last 12 years or so learning everything I can about dog behavior and health. Since dogs are such a large part of our communities and families, we need to understand them better. That is why I take so much pride in not only the care and understanding that every individual dog receives while in Doggytopia's care, but also the healthy products we carry. My goal is to create an environment for dogs where their needs are completely met; body, mind and soul. Please feel free to contact me with questions, concerns or even just feel good dog stories and testimonials. I would love to hear from you! |

'Uncle Mikey' became a part of the Doggytopia team after moving here from the coast in 2003. He is trained as a 'Veterinary Office Assistant' and has worked in veterinary clinics, doggy daycares and does pet sitting in his spare time. Having worked in the animal care field since 2000, his love for animals is both unwavering and eternal. He thinks of them all as his children and looks forward to many more years of joy with them at Doggytopia!

Sarah, (my daughter), has been a part of the Doggytopia team since the beginning. She works here part time while completing her education. She hopes to become a Dolphin trainer, and elementary school teacher or an Anime artist, though I am certain she will be successful at whatever she tries!
Sarah has been around dogs and cats
her entire life and has a very deep respect for our domestic
friends. She also has a deep respect for our environment and is
the always reminding people to 'turn off the water or lights if
you're not using them' out of concern for our planet.
The Doggytopia dogs love her and
look forward to the days she is here!

Kristin, (my other daughter), has also been a part of the
Doggytopia team since we opened, working here part time while
completing her education. Her ideas of what she would like
to do when she graduates change quite often, although they
always have something to do with animals or nature. Her most
constant passion is rehabilitating and releasing injured Owls.
Kristin has a deep respect and love
for nature. She finds it very upsetting when bugs, wildlife or
domestic animals are disrespected or mistreated in any way. She
has this amazing ability, it seems, to non-verbally communicate
with all kritters.
Of course our Doggytopia dogs adore
her as well, and get very excited to see her when she comes!

Michelle has had several careers;
harbour security, flight attendant, banker, and union president to
name a few. But after surviving a serious motorcycle accident in
2004, she decided that her next job must bring her joy. She
joined the Doggytopia team in February 2007.

OUR BELIEFS
There are no bad breeds.*
All dogs need socialization and exercise on a daily basis.
Every dog deserves to be valued and understood.
Zero tolerance policy on abuse of any kind toward all dogs.
Dog daycare is not a substitute for dog training.
Dogs are family members and need to be treated as such.
You CAN teach old dogs new tricks!
All dogs need love!
* Although there are no bad dog breeds, we have experienced that some breeds do not do well in a daycare setting.
Therefore, we can no longer accept Pit Bulls or Staffordshire Bull's.
